Youth Welfare and Fine Arts Club

Annual Report (2021-2022)

     The inaugural function of Youth Welfare and Fine Arts Club was held on 28th October 2021. Mrs. B P Asha Beaulah, co-ordinator, Fine Arts Club of Mar Ephraem College of Engineering and Technology, Elavuvilai was the chief guest. She delivered an inspirational talk and motivated the students to involve in extracurricular and social activities to achieve laurels in this competitive world.

     Youth Welfare and Fine Arts Club organised the intra collegiate cultural competition “Thiramai Thiruvizha 2021” from 02nd November to 20th November. The talents and skills of the students were brought out through 40 competitions categorised under Literary, Music, Dance, Theatre and Fine Arts. More than 1300 students participated in these competitions and 238 students won prizes. The PG Department of English emerged as the overall champions of Thiramai Thiruvizha 2021 in Arts stream and the Aided Department of Mathematics in the science stream. Our principal motivated the students to enhance their skills through hard work and constant practice to have quality in their performance.

     Youth Welfare and Fine Arts Club organised a memorable action packed event “NEMIC FEST 2022”, an inter-collegiate cultural competition on 8th and 9th April 2022. Fine Arts, Music and Dance competitions were conducted. 1400 participants from various colleges of Tamilnadu and Kerala participated in this competition. Malankara Catholic College won the overall championship. Our principal Dr. K Paul Raj delivered the valedictory address and distributed the prizes for the winners.

      Youth Welfare and Fine Arts Club celebrated its Fine Arts Day on 27-04-2022, in a grand manner with actor Mr. Ganeshan (Delhi Ganesh) as the chief guest of honour and he distributed the prizes for the winners of Thiramai Thiruvizha 2021 and the winners of college day competition for staff.

      Our students participated in various inter-collegiate competitions and won many prizes.

The list is as follows:

• Our students won the overall championship in “Calida Festa 2021”, conducted by St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Chunkankadai on 6th October 2021.

• Won the overall championship in “Youth Springs 2022” conducted by Immanuel Arasar College of Education Nattalam on 21st March 2022.

• Won the overall championship in “Kolusukalin Kondattam – Kala Srishti – 2022” conducted by Sree Ayyappa College for Women Chunkankadai on 24th March 2022. Asiha R M of I MA English was awarded with the Kala Shrishti for winning maximum events.

The prizes for other events are as follows:

• 06-10-2021 – won first prize for poetry and first prize for painting in Calida Fest conducted at St. Xaviers College of Engineering.

• 30-10-2021 – Won second prize for drawing competition conducted by Thuckalay DSP office.

• 01-11-2021 – Won third prize and cash award for Elocution competition conducted by Nesamony Institute of Religion and Society.

• 23-11-2021 – Won prizes for block level Declamation contest conducted by Nehru Yuva Kendra.

• 24-11-2021 – Won first prize and cash award for district level Declamation contest conducted by Nehru Yuva Kendra and represented Kanniyakumari district in State level contest.

• 10-12-2021 – Won first prize for song and third prize for fancy dress in Ayyappa College Chunkankadai on Bharathiyar Day.

• 21-03-2022 – Won first prize for group song, group dance, Mime, art from waste, floral decoration, drawing, fashion show and second prize for cooking without fire in Immanuel Arasar College of Education.

• 21-03-2022 – Won second prize for elocution competition conducted in view of 75th Independence day celebration at SLB Higher Secondary School Nagercoil.

• 24-03-2022 – Won first prize handwriting – Hindi, Tamil, English, Malayalam, Mehandi, Chalk Art, Clay Modelling, Floral Arrangement, Classical Dance, Folk Dance, Song, Second prize for vegetable carving, pulli kholam, art from waste, paper folding, rangoli, nail art, face painting, Third prize in book mark making, paper bag making, maakkholam, in Sree Ayyappa College for Women Chunkankadai.

• 31-03-2022 – Won first prize for group song, elocution and second prize for group dance conducted in view of 75th Independence Day celebration in SLB Higher Secondary School, Nagercoil.
